It’s hard to believe that it’s only been 10 days since President Trump was sworn in as president.
Since last Monday, Trump’s already issued more than 50 executive actions. The impacts have been devastating — for our LGBTQ+ neighbors, our public school teachers who’re having to prepare for potential ICE raids, hundreds of thousands of federal employees, members of the U.S. military, and so many more...
It’s been a deluge — and none of it has felt like the America we believe in.
But we are not powerless.
Almost 75 million Americans voted against Trump and his allies this past November (!!!). That means there are literally tens of millions of us who are poised and ready to resist Trump’s fascist regime. And the narrative that the Trump administration has “a mandate” from the American people is simply not true.
We can — and will — fight back.
Democrats need community leaders to run for local office TODAY so they can lead our country tomorrow. A first-time school board candidate running in our upcoming May elections could easily be our future U.S. Senator. Want proof? Just five years ago, Secretary Buttigieg was still a small town mayor.
In 2024, Blue Horizon Texas helped seven candidates win their local and state elections — and we’re looking to double that number in 2025. There will be hundreds of local elections on the ballot here in Texas this May — that’s hundreds of fights we need to be in, and win in. Please pitch in $20 and help Blue Horizon Texas support strong candidates, in as many of these local races as we can.
Blue Horizon Texas has always been bigger than any one single election, or any one President. While we all might still be reeling from the outcomes of this past election, at Blue Horizon, we’re already planning for the future (heck, it’s even part of our name — we’re focused on reaching the next horizon here in Texas).

Remember, the filing deadline to qualify as a candidate in our upcoming May, 2025 elections is Valentine's Day, February 14th.
